SCRIPTURE READING | LUKE 1:5-37
FOCUS SCRIPTURE “9. According to the custom of the priest’s office, his lot was to burn incense when he went into the temple of the Lord. 11. And there appeared unto him an angel of the Lord standing on the right side of the altar of incense.”(Luke 1:9,11)
Being a priest, Zechariah was accustomed to the practice of burning incense in the temple. It was a routine that he would have been used to; burning of incense was a usual thing for Zechariah; but on the occasion highlighted in our Focal Scripture, as he burnt incense when it was his turn, an Angel of the Lord appeared to him. He was doing something usual, when suddenly, something unusual and divine happened.
Friend, hear me as I hear the Lord: as you do the usual, the unusual will locate you. As you carry out regular activities, uncommon favours will locate you; as you make regular efforts, results that are beyond the regular will locate you; as you do that for which you are already known, God will favour you with results you are not expecting; your usual efforts will come with unusual results; your regular steps will breed uncommon results.
What happened to Zechariah was divine, while he was on his divine assignment. He was serving God like he always would, he was not particularly doing anything spectacular; but the God who shows up at uncommon times showed up unexpectedly and it led to a miracle. Hear me as I hear the Lord: at your duty post, as you serve the Lord, there shall be a divine appearance that will lead to miracles you did not plan for.
As you do the usual, prepare for the unusual; prepare for unusual profit in this season; prepare for unusual favours from very unusual quarters; prepare for unusual recommendations from your usual activities; prepare for unusual openings in places where you had given up on; expect unusual breakthroughs as you make regular efforts; expect unusual increase from your seed. The season of the usual is over; henceforth, as you do the usual, the unusual shall come your way.
DECLARE WITH ME
As I do the usual, the unusual will come my way, in Jesus’ name!
